So much great live music this week. Noah Derksen came by, armed with a beautiful Czechoslovakian acoustic guitar and did two gorgeous, sparse tunes. One from his debut album and one from his latest, In Search of the Way. Vancouver rockers JPNSGRLS brought it down a few from what they’re used and delivered a couple of beauties from the latest, Divorce. They sounded great in studio but you should really check out the full band, plugged in and amped up. And U.K. singer/songwriter Reuben Hollebon stopped by in advance of his show at the Cobalt. Besides working as a sound engineer and producer for many different acts, including Basement Jaxx, Reuben Hollebon has been working for a long time on his own music and it shows on his latest album, Terminal Nostalgia.
Next week it’s live music from Lauren Mann and on Wednesday, special guest host Terry David Mulligan delivers an hour long VIFF special. Thanks for listening!
