Imagine what it would be like to be guided through time by centuries of great thinkers unraveling the history around them of the complexities of old and new worlds and perhaps in many ways, ourselves. Walking leisurely by centuries-old buildings that line narrow cobblestone laneways in magical scenes that give up the stories of the people who lived inside like Vivaldi, Mann, James, Hawthorne, Marx, Fanon and so many others, as well as the many visitors who had traveled great distances to retell their stories.

In the past two years, I have been able to walk down many of those laneways metaphorically and physically in other countries as well as Vancouver learning the stories that we have inherited as well as many new ones that are developing every day on the streets and laneways of our city. This has been a year of overwhelming and joy recovering from a near fatal accident and all that comes with any kind of existential experience, birthing this wonderful new radio station and getting “known” for all the things that make us different, like sharing the stories of past, present, and future generations. It is my wish that we may find a few days of peace between the edges of last year and a new year with some wonderfully creative programs and shows that have been hand picked, played and performed just for you…

We really love this thing called Roundhouse and are honoured that you have taken some time to check us out. We just finished our first year and we are ready to take the training wheels off as we figure out what is next. Like we know J. If you like what we are up to please tell you friends and please let us know what we can do more of to put a smile on your face and warm your heart.

Warmly…D.S
