Chris Cornell, frontman of Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple of the Dog with members of Pearl Jam, has died at the age of 52 in a suicide by hanging in Detroit.

Led Zeppelin‘s Jimmy Paige tweeted:

System of a Down‘s Serj Tankian:

Roundhouse Radio’s own Terry David Mulligan interviewed Cornell for a MuchMusic segment at their Seattle rehearsal space a number of years ago.

“When I walked in the guys in the band said ‘Where the hell have you been?’, Chris Cornell looks at me and says ‘They think you’re the pizza delivery guy, it’s okay, here’s here to talk to us, guys,’ he recalls. “He was an amazing man. I loved him, I thought he was as grounded as anyone I’ve met in the business.”

He says he never had the sense he was troubled, but since that day, he says he kept a few stories he heard in mind.
