Alcohol and speed are believed were two bad decisions that led to a crash that killed a 90 year old woman in Surrey on Saturday afternoon.
It happened around 3:20pm in the intersection of 72nd Avenue and 132nd Street where police came across a badly damaged Toyota in the intersection and found two people inside.
The male driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the intersection was closed to traffic for hours.
It was nearly a hit-and-run, the other vehicle sped off, but police caught up with the suspected grey Dodge thanks to witnesses who saw the crash and the driver was arrested.
Police still want to speak with any witnesses who saw how the Dodge was driving either before or after the crash to call them at 604-599-0502 and quote file # 2017-097266.
