Surrey RCMP are searching for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run that seriously injured a female pedestrian.

RCMP received multiple 911 calls of a woman struck in the 10200 block of 149 Avenue, and that a suspect vehicle described as gray or silver coloured imported sedan had fled the scene, and was last reported heading westbound with two male occupants.

People in the area came to help the victim, who is a resident of Surrey.

RCMP and members of the BC Ambulance service attended to the scene, where the 47-year-old woman was transported to the hospital with serious head and leg injuries. She remains in stable condition.

RCMP are asking anyone who witnesses the collision or saw the vehicle driving away from the scene to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers.
