The second annual Vancouver Mural Festival kicks off today.
The week-long festivities features the work of more than 70 artists from the Lower Mainland and around the world.
The artists have created 60 new murals — that tend to last two to three years — in the Mount Pleasant, Strathcona, and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Mayor Gregor Robertson says the event supports the city’s creative economy by celebrating street art.
Main Street is closed from 7th to 12th Avenues until 9:30pm.
